About My Business:

Bakem Music Bio Bakem da “Black Soul,” During his younger years, the versatile Hip-Hopper demonstrated an ability to excel musically. His musical interests led him to the trombone, where his performances resulted in many standing ovations. Bakem’s musical instructor, Mr. Collins, took such a liking to Bakem that he trained him to read music, focusing on jazz theory. Another music teacher, Ms. Minatee, asked Bakem to sing in the high school chorus. Trained as a bass, he travelled with the chorus to such international destinations as Europe. Bakem credits his choral years as those, which helps “me to hypnotize a crowd with the soulful tone of my voice, which overwhelms them into submission.” In the life of many artists, they experience a defining moment, in which their career aspirations begin to take shape. This moment came when Bakem’s mother, Marice, decided to enter the world of entrepreneurship. From its headquarters in Plainfield, New Jersey, she opened Full Spectrum Healthy Foods, Inc. From her example, Bakem learned independence and internalized the drive, which it takes to become a successful entrepreneur. Bakem decided that he wanted to make hip-hop work, not just for himself, but for the family business also. Thus, his mother’s dream became his dream. He began hosting and co-hosting open mic events out of the store. While hosting these events, Bakem also took the opportunity to perform, thus honing his own skills as an MC. Ever the entrepreneur, Bakem sold CDs of his recordings and produced mini-concerts, which featured other up-and-coming artists from in and around Plainfield. Bakem became so successful that he soon drew the attention of Jermaine “Do It All” Dupree and Yasheen “Black Sun” Vickers of the Lord Gang Music Group. Mr. Vickers was so impressed with the talented MC that he gave Bakem the opportunity to perform at Mr. Dupree’s birthday celebration in 2007. Bakem mesmerized the crowd along with Lords of the Underground. Specialties Great HipHop Music
