About My Business:

 

HireFuel started with a complaint… that grew into an idea… that spread like wildfire. Like many businesses, we have a team of dedicated, intelligent, good-looking (ok, maybe we’re biased) human resources professionals who write and publish all of our job listings and email them manually. They had been using an outside service to distribute our jobs until one day not too long ago. We were contacted by the company whose app/software we used to distribute our jobs to our social pages. They informed us that they were going to begin charging us a huge fee for use of their app/software. There was some internal debate about the obvious necessity of a job distribution tool versus the value the company was offering us to use their app/software. Finally, it was decided that not only was their small product insufficient to meet our hiring needs, but it was a poor value for the high price they were charging, And we could build a better one. So we got our hiring managers, human resources directors, and our digital development team together. We devised a plan to build a product that would be fast to implement, simple to use, efficient and affordable. After weeks of brainstorming, we began building HireFuel. As our HR managers used the tool, they provided us with honest feedback and some great suggestions. We incorporated these updates and found that as the tool grew, it didn’t get more complicated. It became more intuitive. The accessibility and ease of use that our HR team had been missing was a huge hit. As we rolled HireFuel out to more of our brands, we got even more responses. We finally decided that it wouldn’t be fair to keep this to ourselves, especially when so many other companies out there are facing the same limitations and frustrations that we were. But we didn’t stop there. We thought about the other needs of our business, including how to get our open job listings in front of as many eyeballs as possible and how to reward our employees for their loyalty and for helping us locate and hire talented new employees.
