About My Business:


Thomas Kirui is a law graduate of the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School, Regent University and the University of Nairobi. He also holds a post-graduate law certificate from Harvard University. He became a member of the Virginia State Bar in 2003. Mr. Kirui also holds admissions in the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Prior to his legal practice, Mr. Kirui served for over a decade as a sailor in the United States Navy. While stationed on the USS Saipan LHA-2, he served on two overseas deployments in the Adriatic Sea due to turmoil in Albania in 1998 as well as during the 2000 federal elections in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. While on shore duty in Washington, DC, Petty Officer Kirui serviced the military offices of the White House, The Pentagon, Defense Intelligence Agency and the Office of Naval Intelligence, among others, as a pay and travel clerk. He has extensive training and experience working on U.S. military benefits. Following a honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy, Mr. Kirui accepted a commission as a Judge Advocate in the U.S. Army Reserve JAG Corps. He subsequently completed military law training at the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General Legal Center and School in Charlottesville, VA as well as the Direct Commission Officer Course in Fort Benning, GA. In addition to his private law practice, Captain Kirui currently serves as an Administrative Law Attorney with the U.S. Army 151st Legal Operations Detachment (LOD). He previously served as a Defense Counsel with the 154th LOD as well as a Soldiers’ Physical Evaluation Board Counsel with the 134th LOD. Mr. Kirui focuses his private law practice in immigration and military disability law. As an immigrant and U.S. military veteran, he is passionate about helping immigrants achieve their American Dream and prides himself in helping veterans with their disability claims. He lives in Northern Virginia with his family.
