Via innovative photo shoots and fashion editorials and features, he gave a platform for then up and coming musical artists from Moby, Bjork & Dee-Lite, emerging actors and talents Mila Jovovich & Liv Tyler, as well as discovering new fashion talents Alexander McQueen, Hussein Chalayan & Byron Lars, whilst featuring high end designers like Romeo Gigli and Jean Paul Gaultier. Mr. Frazier was always spotting who would be, before they were. 1985-1992 MTV Networks-NY, NY Fashion Director/On-Air Commentator As the Fashion Director for MTV, Mr. Frazier was responsible for establishing a Wardrobe-Hair-Makeup Department, whose duties were to handle the budgets for dressing and grooming all on-air talent for this 24 hour music phenomenon, whilst cultivating a “revolving roster” of fashion labels and designers appropriate for this merging of fashion & music. He ultimately was asked to go in front of the cameras, as Fashion Commentator & Show Stylist for the internationally syndicated dance show, ‘Club MTV’, where he would style the show’s host, Downtown Julie Brown, who would ultimately become his career muse. On ‘Club MTV’, Mr. Frazier produced, showcased and discovered a series of new fashion designers for this dance show via choreographed musical routines utilizing appropriate “Club MTV” dancers with then commercially unknown fashion designers like Dolce & Gabbana, Emporio Armani, Patricia Field, Nicole Miller, etc. Mr. Frazier also served as a Fashion Contributing Expert to many of the early acclaimed shows at MTV, namely MTV’s ‘House of Style’ & ‘Remote Control’ 1982-1985 Parachute Clothing Retail Boutique-NY, NY Creative Director-Press Director As the Creative Director for Parachute, Mr. Frazier’s responsibilities included budgeting and producing all visual materials, ad campaigns, press releases, product editorial placements and fashion videos for this innovative international retail brand. In his capacity as Creative Director, he was privileged to have creative collaborations with then emerging photographers Mario Testino & David LaChapelle and videographer director Robert Sheehan. Mr. Frazier would style all in-coming and many times burgeoning musical talent for respective “loan outs” for music videos, magazine features, editorials and covers. Some highlights included a young Madonna for ‘Live-Aid’, icons Cher, Duran Duran & The Monkeys Anniversary Tour etc. As Press Director, Mr. Frazier’s responsibilities included interfacing with all magazine editors for product editorial placements, advertising placement buys, and garnering press notoriety for the brand. He often lunched with Andy Warhol at Interview Magazine, and a young Anna Wintour at Vogue and other top media executives within the New York publishing worlds and all media outlets. Mr. Frazier acted as company spokesman and liaison for the Soho filming of Woody Allen’s ‘Hannah and Her Sisters’. 1979-1982 Hyatt Corporation-Arizona, Los Angeles, New York Mr. Frazier assumed entry level positions and Junior Executive positions within the hospitality world of The Hyatt Hotel chain, which included front desk operations, guest services and data-processing.
