About My Business:

 

Unlike 99 percent of real estate agents in Massachusetts, I never practice dual agency. So my clients never have to worry about my loyalty, and I'll never tell them in the middle of a deal, "Sorry, I can't give you that information because it may harm my client on the other side of this transaction."

Seventy-five percent of my business since 1998 has been buyer agency. So, unlike most Mass. agents who jumped on the buyer-agency bandwagon in 2006 and who are thrilled to "represent" both the buyers and sellers of their listings (dual agency), I have successfully completed well over 100 transactions working solely for home buyers. With so much experience working on behalf of buyers, I know what they find appealing, how they think, and how these factors evolve as the market changes. So when I represent sellers, I know how to help them prepare the property, how to effectively feature the home on the Internet with professional video and photos, and how to position it on the market to find the individual balance of maximum sale price versus minimum time on the market each seller is looking for. Plus I have a sense of what's going through the buyer's mind---and the buyer's agent's mind---during negotiations. The bottom line is that I don't take a Realtor-centric, cookie-cutter approach with my clients. The wants and needs of each client are unique to them and I listen to what those are, make my best recommendations to help them get what they want, and let the client decide what's best for them. I would probably make a lot more money doing what almost everybody else does in this business, but I sleep much better at night keeping my focus on the client's interests. Also, unlike traditional agents who work in a handful of towns right around where their home or office is, I work in a wide geographic territory throughout eastern Massachusetts.
