Clients I'm Seeking:

Buyers or folks needing a refinance. I like to work with my jumbo clients as much as I do my first time buyers.

About My Business:

How did I end up in the mortgage business? I bought a house. Really, it’s true. At the time I was working for a small blues record label thinking that was the path I wanted to take. But in time I realized that music was more of a hobby for me. The experience of buying my first home was confusing but the financial puzzle of getting to the right mortgage was fascinating. It was with that interest I stepped into the business and nearly 2 decades later I have not looked back. What’s the best part of your job? The excitement and thanks I receive from my clients. It is really rewarding to help someone buy their first home or even get into that dream home after years of hard work. It’s gratifying for all of us. But the finish line is not everything. I enjoy the complexity of each client’s needs. Asking the right questions, listening for the answers and providing options, explained in plain English, that hit my clients targets is challenging. But as a problem solver by nature I find this work enjoyable. As long as my clients and I work closely together (is there any other way??) this is a pleasurable and often easy process. How’d you end up in Portland? I moved to Portland from southern Oregon as I entered into High School. I live in Portland today because this is where all my people are. My friends, my family, they are all here! And now with how Portland has grown up and become one of the best cities in the United States, I feel so lucky to call Portland my home. What’s your favorite day look like? A day with my wife & two daughters, in another country with my camera in hand. I love to explore and I love to be just a bit out of my comfort zone. Traveling is one of my main ‘things’ and while I have visited around 60 countries there are many still out there. When the four of us are off on an adventure, seeing, smelling and experiencing life that is most certainly a favorite day. What would you do if you weren’t in the mortgage business? Not sure I could find a better job than what I have now but I would likely find a way to incorporate my love for travel with photography. My wife and I have always talked about running a safari camp in Africa once our kids are off to college. I think it would be fun to welcome people on their once in a life time trip and ensure they have the best experience possible. Plus there is nothing like a good sundowner while watching elephants play.
