About My Business:

ConferenceDirect is a worldwide provider of outsourced meeting planning solutions. The portfolio of offerings include: Site Selection/Contract Negotiation (this service is at no cost to you), Conference Management Services and Housing & Registration. ConferenceDirect is pleased to provide these services on an individual or "all inclusive" basis. Norah Marr, CMP, CMM has gained her expertise as a hotel negotiator in over 26 years in the hospitality and meetings industry. Being a native of Peru of European ancestry as well as her fluency in four languages, gives Norah a global perspective that is hard to match anywhere in the industry. Over the past few years she has developed a unique position as the go-to person for international meetings. Norah became an associate of ConferenceDirect following a successful career as a Senior Accounts Manager for the Western US and International Markets at the legendary Anatole Hotel in Dallas. During the 9 years of her tenure Norah held various positions in Conference Management and Group Sales giving her an insider understanding of both the corporate and association markets; as well as of the hotels’ business perspective. Norah is also a proud Wyndham International’s “Circle of Excellence” inductee with a consistently successful track record. Her well-rounded education in both Hotel Sales and Operations began in 1984 with Sheraton Hotels & Resorts with a thorough professional internship at the Lima Sheraton Hotel & Casino. Experience and positions held covered a myriad of areas at properties in South America and overseas where she also had extensive international industry memberships such as CANATUR, APAVIT and served as a Board Member for the Association of Executives in Travel Industries. Marr’s experience in hotel contract negotiations is featured as one of the success stories in the Convention Industry Council's Project Attrition. Marr is also a recipient of inclusion in the Strathmore’s “Who’s Who”, as an individual who has demonstrated leadership and achievement in her occupation, industry and profession. Norah is currently an active member of the Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce; MPI (Meeting Professionals International); ASAE (American Society of Association Executives); Women In Technology International; Women’s EComerce Association International; Dallas Fort Worth Association Executives and was a Board Member for the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO-DFW), serving as Vice President of Corporate Development as well as a Chair in the Denton and Collin County Council. Marr is fluent and articulate in four languages and is also familiar with business protocol in foreign cultures.
