Clients I'm Seeking:

I'm seeking clients that are looking to monetize their innovations and ideas by developing and procuring a robust IP portfolio. My clients range from start up to mature, but I would like to have some mid-size businesses with solid on-going IP needs.

About My Business:

I am the principal and founder of a small IP boutique firm, where all of the professionals are highly experienced. I am seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience combining law, science, engineering, and business management in start-ups and established environments.
I practiced law as IP Counsel at Silicon Valley offices of Heller Ehrman as well as Townsend and Townsend and in-house at the Hewlett-Packard Company. I was General Counsel and Vice President of Intellectual Property at a successfully acquired medical device start up company where I was responsible for all legal matters including IP, clinical trials, corporate transactions, licensing and partnering transactions, employment, as well as litigation and dispute resolution.

Before starting my legal career, I spent several years in the industry holding technical and management positions at companies such as Hewlett-Packard and Schering-Plough. My extensive experience enables the patent and transactional counseling of clients in the diverse areas including life sciences, software and business methods, medical devices and diagnostics, and high technology. Based on the range of her experience and having founded two companies, I am well accustomed to challenges facing emerging as well as mature companies. I consult with other firms and companies. I take great pleasure in being actively involved in educational and non-profit organizations some of which include being on the Board of Advisors at the Licensing Executives Society (LES) Silicon Valley Chapter (SVC) where I also serves as the program chair; and the Association for the Sports and Athlete Professionals. I instructs courses in IP and licensing at the University of California. I also serve as a mentor with several entrepreneurship-focused courses/programs at Stanford University, am a mentor with LES Graduate School Business Plan Competition, am an advisor with Astia, and volunteer and donates my services at local non-profit organizations. I am also an inventor on patent applications and issued patents.

I hold a J.D. and M.S., and am licensed to practice before the State of California and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
