Alex Cohen has more than twenty two years of real estate and urban planning experience, the last thirteen with Cushman & Wakefield (C&W). Since 2000, he has conducted corporate consulting, transaction management and financial analysis for both Tenants and Landlords. Mr. Cohen’s tenant clients include Pfizer, Citigroup, the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation, Fulbright & Jaworksi, The New York Foundling, TimesSquare Capital Management, Cura Capital Management, Goffe Capital Management, Banca Popolare di Vicenza, Camicissima, SushiShop, The Beanstalk Group, The Hospitality Group, Local Initiatives Support Corporation, Risk and Insurance Management Society, The Greater New York Hospital Association, Zelman & Associates, Chenab, Be & D, Gilan, Decker’s Outdoor , Barron Partners, Browns Fashions, and Fashion Group International. As exclusive agent, Mr. Cohen has represented the ownership of 640 Fifth Avenue, 730 Fifth Avenue, 51 West 52nd Street, 1500 Broadway, 830 Third Avenue and 1697 Broadway. Mr. Cohen received the 2005 Economic Impact Deal of the Year Award from the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, New Jersey Chapter for representing Pfizer in the sale of the 1.3 million square foot 295 North Maple Avenue facility in Basking Ridge, New Jersey to Verizon. In 2003, Mr. Cohen received the C&W Most Ingenious Deal of the Year Award for the Aon Assignment (275,000 square feet)/ Purchase of 685 Third Avenue (635,000 square feet) on behalf of Pfizer, one of the most significant transactions of the year. Previously, as Assistant Director of C&W’s Advisory Services Group, he negotiated public incentives and conducted location analysis studies to support clients’ corporate location decisions. Prior to his Advisory Services engagement, Mr. Cohen was Senior Manager in C&W’s Research Consulting Services department. He was responsible for C&W’s New York Area research consulting efforts, including management of market analysis, client presentations, publications and all research consulting-related personnel issues. He was awarded the C&W Research Services 1998 Rookie of the Year award. Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Mr. Cohen consulted to a range of not-for-profit organizations in the planning and business development areas, including the Local Initiatives Support Corporation, Community Capital Bank, the Architectural League of New York, and the New York City Housing Authority. The Municipal Art Society awarded its first Tucker Ashworth Memorial Fellowship to Mr. Cohen. Mr. Cohen holds a Masters in Public Affairs/Urban and Regional Planning from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University, where he was awarded the Robertson Fellowship, graduating in 1994 and a Bachelors Degree in History from Yale University, where he graduated in 1988.
