About My Business:


A Brief History... Big Bird Sports was founded in 1997 to fill the niche in the sports industry for a truly independent supplier of quality give aways and retail souvenir merchandise. Our Managing Director, Joan Robinson, and her then business partner fondly referred to each other as "Les Grandes Oiseaux" or "The Big Birds" of the industry and hence a company with a truly unique name was born. Since we hatched, we have grown to supply over 100 top teams in every imaginable sport - football, rugby (both league & union), cricket etc. We also supply a number of FTSE 100 companies and have associations with clients ranging from major international fashion houses, to charities and Central Government Departments. Company Overview... As a different type of supplier, we do not invest thousands of pounds a year on catalogues - that way we can save you money! This web site is our only foray into "global marketing". This allows us to offer what we believe is a unique service to our clients in the way we supply our products. Joan Robinson Founder & Owner Joan is Managing Director and is the driving force behind the company. With over 20-years experience in the promotions industry and a lifetime love of football, Joan brings experience, passion & drive to the company. Running the Sports Division, Joan looks after all of our sports industry clients Matthew Robinson With nearly 15 years experience in the promotions industry on both sides of the table, Matthew is a salesman, marketeer and wannabee designer. Matt (as he prefers to be called) heads up our newly launched Corporate Division and looks after all our non-sports clients. Working out of our satellite office, he is on hand for sales enquiries and artwork queries. Lucy Swaby As the Office Manager, Lucy is responsible for order processing, administration and keeping Joan & Matt in line. She also works out of our satellite office and is the primary point of contact for anything non-sales related.
