With a background leading strategic penetration and expansion for companies ranging from global merchandise giants such as Enesco International through to small greenfield operations, I have a wealth of experience gained from more than 20 years operating in the hub of executive teams across the most competitive and challenging of markets. Often described as ‘loving a challenge’ with a knack for pulling off the impossible. Over many years as a Business Consultant I have transitioned ambitious business ideas and concepts to commercial realities; and carved new trade pathways in previously untapped markets. I have also taken businesses at the brink of bankruptcy and reengineered them to profitable sustainable ventures. With a belief that ‘just because things have always been done that way, doesn’t mean they necessarily should be’ I am renowned for combining critical analysis and innovation to challenge traditional practices. When leading the Asian Pacific operations of Enesco International I was credited with establishing the company’s first true presence in the Asian market, taking regional sales to more than US$85M . As a Consultant I have assisted multiple businesses to achieve new levels of profitability including developing the business model and strategy that saw a small domestic specialist manufacturer grow from micro-business to international market leader in its niche. My rich business experience comes as a result of career spanning across a range of industries and countries and specializing in manufacturing, import and export, distribution and merchandising. In the past I have successfully negotiated licensing agreements with major brand names; managed high volume shipping including worldwide distribution of merchandise; led multi-site operations and off-shore teams; and established multi-million dollar channel partnerships. Whilst my recent experience is in international business my early career was spent as part of the management team for well known domestic company GJ Coles & Co. I also held a management role in the Commercial & Industrial Property Division for Perpetual Trustees (W.A.) Ltd. I am passionate about supporting Australian industry and I was a Founding Director of the body now known as Gift & Homewares Australia.
