While our buyer contacts are literally worldwide, many of our sell side clients are located in the Northeast and/or Mid-Atlantic, although we have worked with seller clients as far away as Germany and buyers as far away as Asia. The buyers we represent engage us for nationwide and international targeted search projects. That being said, the farther from the Mid-Atlantic Region a potential client is located, the larger the potential transaction needs to be in order for it to make sense for us to represent it successfully. In general terms, our typical target seller company has Revenues of $2 to $100 million, particularly those under $60 million in Revenues. Conversely, we have represented buyers with Revenues well in excess of $1 billion. While our largest deal ever was almost $100 million, the typical deal value range in which our clients generally engage our services is generally on the order of $2 to $60MM. That being said, we have pursued buy side transactions recently that were well over $100 million. Since we receive in excess of 95% of our client assignments from referrals, over the years, we have handled a very wide variety of companies. As a result, we do not specialize in any one particular industry; we are equally comfortable in manufacturing, distribution, B2B or B2C services, as well as advanced technology related businesses. In addition, we also get involved in larger niche retail operations when we feel that we can provide a high degree of value-add. In addition to our staff of professionals, we also have an extensive network of senior executives with specific, vertical industry expertise and contacts to augment our already substantial resources and network. Examples of industries in which we have strong executive resources include, but are not limited to: (a) Chemicals and Materials Manufacturing, (b) Food, Snack Food, Beverage and Nutriceuticals, (c) Data Protection/Disaster Recovery, (d) Contract Manufacturing, (e) Packaging, (f) Aerospace, (g) Electronic Components and Devices, and (h) many other niches. One of the strategic services we offer, which has been of particular interest to private equity firms and corporate buyers throughout the U.S., is Corporate Development Outsourcing. In fact, one of our clients, Conectiv, acquired over 22 companies as a result of the acquisition program that we built for them. RLS is committed to assisting business owners and/or prospective business owners with business lifecycle events. In addition to our direct services (representing sellers and buyers of businesses and helping owners to secure growth capital financing), RLS also assists business owners with introductions to appropriate resources (lenders, wealth managers, trust advisors, lawyers, accountants, insurance professionals, etc.) Since those are not core competencies of our organization, we merely act as a gateway for introductions for our clients and referral channel partners.
