About My Business:


Jessyca Greenwood founded Greenwood Defence Law to assist clients facing allegations of wrong doing. Jessyca received her degree from the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law in 2008 and was called to the Bar in Ontario in 2009. She articled at a small criminal litigation boutique before opening her own practice in 2010. While attending Windsor Law, Jessyca was an active member of the community; she served as a Group Leader and caseworker at Community Legal Aid. She represented low-income clients on a variety of civil, tribunal and discipline matters, in addition to conducting numerous summary conviction criminal trials from 2005 to 2008. Since being called to the bar Jessyca has represented clients before all levels of Court in Ontario, she has successfully litigated numerous Charter of Rights and Freedoms, sexual assault, and complex mental health cases. She has also represented clients charged with serious provincial offences, and appeared before a number of tribunals, including the Ontario Securities Commission, Parole Board of Canada, Ontario Review Board, Consent and Capacity Board and before various regulatory bodies and professional discipline committees. Jessyca continues to be an active and contributing member of the legal community, she sits on several mental health and justice committees, teaches as a guest lecturer for lawyers, paralegals, and students at Osgoode Hall Law School and the University of Western Ontario, acts as a Lawyer Supervisor with Pro Bono Students Canada, and has published articles for ‘RegQuest’ and ‘For The Defence’ Magazine.
