As a catalyst for positive business change, Heather Butler Taylor offers over 20+ years of coaching, consulting, and management experience in designing and implementing varied organization development interventions for clients. She has worked as an internal change agent and as an external management consultant in corporations within the United States and abroad, with executive- and C-level clients in the Broadcasting & Cable, Consumer Foods, Healthcare, Insurance, Lodging/Gaming/Entertainment, Higher Education, and Manufacturing industries. Taylor is the founder and president of H. B. Taylor Associates, a management consultancy she founded in 2003. She effectively consults with clients on organizational development consulting solutions including diversity and inclusion, culture change, executive coaching, strategic planning, team building, conflict management, as well as human resource management, training, instructional design, group facilitation and management development initiatives. Taylor holds a Master of Science degree in Organizational Development and a graduate certificate in Change Management from The Johns Hopkins University, and she earned a bachelor of Music in Arts Administration from Howard University where she studied Music and Dance. Taylor is a member of many professional associations, including NTL Institute for the Applied Behavioral Sciences (NTL), the ODNetwork (ODN), Leadership Illinois, and the National Academy for the Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS). Prior to starting her own consultancy, Taylor was in executive leadership and/or internal consultant positions at Turner Broadcasting Systems, Marriott Corporation, The Johns Hopkins Hospital, George Washington University, and a venture capital start up. Her business background includes direct experience in the aforementioned sectors, as well as Banking, Retailing, Not-for-profit, and Telecommunications. In addition, she has been a professional guest consultant instructor at Central Illinois College’s Professional Development Institute, where she facilitated various sessions in the 21st Century Leadership Series, and Heartland Community College’s Community Education Supervisory Series and Corporate Education programs. In her spare time, Taylor is a philanthropist and social justice advocate. She volunteers her talents with civic and social organizations including the Multicultural Leadership Program in Bloomington, IL, where she facilitates a diversity and inclusion session and serves as a mentor to program participants. Taylor also held various positions within NTL Institute including the Presidential Search Committee, Ethics Committee, and the 2010 Annual Meeting Planning Committee. Taylor is certified by Prosci in Change Management; NTL Institute as a certified trainer of Human Interaction Labs and Diversity training; certified Independent Executive Coach by KornFerry International; AchieveGlobal Leadership & Customer Service certified trainer; Elsie Y. Cross Associates certified Diversity Trainer; Center for Creative Leadership Benchmark 360 Degree Feedback certified facilitator; and achieved Fundamental Interpersonal Relationship Orientation-Behavior (FIRO-B) and Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) qualifications. Taylor is a trained classical vocalist and enjoys continuing her love for the choral arts. She is a member of Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternity for Women and sang for over 11 years with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus (ASOC) as a member of the second soprano section. During her ASOC years, the orchestra and chorus earned five Grammy Awards in Classical Chorale Performance and toured in Berlin, Germany. The chorus also performed at the Ravinia Festival in Illinois, and Carnegie Hall in New York City. She performed with the Atlanta Opera, Illinois Symphony Chorus, and occasionally sings with her local church choir. Taylor resides in central California with her husband and son.
