Clients I'm Seeking:

African media houses (print, broadcast and online/mobile news producers: editors, sub-editors, journalists, photojournalists, camera operators, sound technicians, production editors, news editors, programmers, announcers, editorial researchers and archivists), and communicators in the government, corporate and sectors.

About My Business:

The Institute for the Advancement of Journalism (IAJ) is a Johannesburg-based non-profit organisation that conducts mid-career skills training for journalists and communicators across Africa. Although initially focused on Anglophone Africa, we are expanding into Francophone, Lusophone and Arabophone Africa. Our training focuses on the likes of: business & finance journalism; repurposing print content for online & mobile; conflict reporting & journalism safety; data journalism & infographics; political economy; energy industry reporting; narrative journalism; investigative journalism; etc. We run seminars, short courses, and long courses (including residencies and MICT-SETA certified broadcasting and multimedia Workplace Skills Programmes), and are building interactive e-learning diplomas in digital journalism and developmental journalism. We train either at our Johannesburg facilities, on site, or (in the near future) by virtual campus.
