Just a reminder to those of you who use QuickBooks even in a network environment that you should backup your company file at least once a week within the program, in single user, and on the server or the machine hosting the file. Doing so lets the program verify the integrity of your data and allows you to reduce the size of your transaction log file. Backing up your company file to a external hard drive or online service only copies corrupted data if your company file is damaged.

Want to take your clients out for a business meal? Under recent IRS guidance, taxpayers may continue to deduct 50 percent of the cost of business meals if the taxpayer (or an employee of the taxpayer) is present and the food or beverages are not considered lavish or extravagant. It also includes meals purchased separately at an entertainment event but not the entertainment. https://www.intuitiveaccountant.com/tax-and-practice-management/irs-issues-guidance-on-meals-and-entertainment/
