About My Business:

I have been gently guiding new families through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and the first years of parenting for many years. My classes, services and support groups are designed to help a wide range of clients. Couples can mix and match to create exactly the support they need at exactly the time they need it. Clients can choose between a group or private setting. Doula Service ^^^^^^^^^^ In Home & Care Provider Prenatal Visits: Relationship and team building is key to how couples feel about their birth experience. I facilitate honest communication between all members of the woman's chosen birth team encouraging clarification and prioritization. Through phone and on-line I provide resource information & education empowering couples to make solid decisions based on evidenced-based practices. Birth: With over 20 years of experience helping women birth how and where they want I truly believe in a woman's ability to birth. I know how crucial it is that she surrounds herself with people that believe both in her body and her intuition to make the best choices for her baby. I provide personalized, physical and emotional guidance for home, hospital or birth center birth. Having an experienced set of hands they can trust to be there at their birth frees fathers and mothers to focus on their connection during the process. In Home Postpartum Visits: The first days of parenthood are extremely wonderful and stressful. A home visit by an experienced guide to set you on the right path is what every new family needs to boost their confidence. As a La Leche League Leader I know how to give the right support and information for breastfeeding success. I provide tips, resources and strategies to smooth the physical transition. Discussing their birth helps them integrate it into their new lives. Gentle questions shine a light on the parents emotional state and whether some additional support is needed. Classes ^^^^^^ Healthy Beginnings/Healthy Choices: pregnancy classes focusing on wellness creation. Clients learn how to nurture their bodies, their babies and their relationships. Heart, Mind & Body Birth Preparation: empowers and inspires clients to create the birth they want. I offer small intimate learning situations designed to promote intimacy, sharing, friendship and community building. All in our out of hospital birth choices are honored and respected. Included is my private on-line group for continued support and inspiration. Birth Connection Date Nights: These practice sessions are serene spaces where all learning is experiential through relaxation, guided imagery and touch. The focus is encouraging oxytocin, the “love hormone”, to flow between the woman, her partner and her baby, teaching how to move through labor land together. Becoming a Family: This is the only new parents’ class in the county which includes dads! I help both moms and dads become more confident in their role by learning about the amazing abilities of their newborn and discussing parenting options. This is a transformative time with all the stresses that come with change. Special consideration is given to enhancing couples understanding and support of one another. Designed to cover areas of concern from birth to 18 months. Loving Guidance Workshops: These periodic workshops cover my Five Steps to Creating a Healthy, Happy, Whole Family empowering parents to move through the normal ups and downs of parenthood, take control of their own learning, and make their own decisions on how they wish to parent. Support Groups ^^^^^^^^^^^^ La Leche League: As a League Leader I facilitate a Mothers’ Meeting once a month in the South County which is free and open to all mothers for breastfeeding advice and support, as well as, answer questions on-line or by phone. “Whole”istic Mamas and Papas: Provides community and support for families choosing to parent from an alternative point of view; attachment parenting, co-sleeping, extended nursing, baby wearing, individual vaccination choices, homeschooling, etc. I created a safe space both in our face-to-face park day meet ups and on-line group for asking questions, gathering information, sharing and learning from each other.
