Laurie Pehar Borsh Bio Laurie has provided her clients with cutting edge marketing and social media solutions for communications and business development since 1994. Over the years, her "personal brand" has evolved into supporting professionals with personal and business publicity for business development, web reputation management and executive talent management for career advancement as well as PR. Offering strategy, production and tactical management, Laurie is passionate about promoting people, places and things. Having built a unique and intense personal brand over the last 20 years, Laurie's instincts and skills for providing personal service to executives and organizations began with her work in the restaurant management and continued into her early career in the fitness and sports club industry. She simultaneously developed an interest in creating a PR and promotions business while teaching fitness classes and then finally going into fitness industry marketing. Laurie rolled out her current career with the Sports Club/LA (company) in 1987, responsible for public relations, business development and member retention marketing in her role as Promotions and Activities Director for the company’s Spectrum Club brand in Los Angeles. In 1994 Laurie launched her first venture, Behind the Scenes Unltd. (The Sports Club remained a client until 1999) which provided outsourced marketing and promotions services to company brands such as Disney and Reebok as well as small business and budding entrepreneurs. In addition to establishing Behind the Scenes Unltd. to serve corporate and business clients, Laurie also started a personal promotions service for solo professionals, executives and business owners in the fitness Industry (under the "Fit Basics" brand name). In the early 2000's, when digital media began to make its mark, Laurie aligned her traditional tactics with this the new viable and cost-effective publicity and marketing channel. She also began to support executives with job placement search programs via a personal publicity representation model. As social media and networking launched in 2003, Laurie looked to capitalize on this emerging new media opportunity for those trying to navigate this new “wild west” as an additional channel for personal and business publicity. Upon shaping her firm into Personal PR Productions in 2008, she added her own name into the brand in 2009 and as of 2011 the agency became known as Laurie Pehar Borsh PR.
