About My Business:

Maryland Ravens, Inc. is a grassroots non-profit organization that is run solely by volunteers and has served as an anchor and engine for leadership development amongst the physically disabled public of Maryland for 41 years. The organization was founded in 1972, as an adaptive recreation program sponsored by the League for the Handicap and the Maryland Rehabilitation Center. In 1984, the program became a separate entity and acquired its own non-profit status in 1987. Each year, the Maryland Ravens provide many Baltimore City/County low-income disabled individuals with the opportunity to demonstrate their physical and intellectual abilities through our post-rehabilitative programs. Since the 1970s, the Maryland Ravens have consistently offered numerous opportunities for physically challenged individuals to realize and demonstrate that they, like their non-disabled peers, have the ability to inspire others Our mission is to empower physically challenged athletes, promote ability, and provide each person (disabled or not) with the foundation to inspire a lifelong excitement for achievement. We cultivate leadership skills that serve disabled and non-disabled persons in schools, in their homes, and in their communities. Since its formation, the Maryland Ravens have been synonymous with empowering Maryland’s disabled. Through strong ties with Maryland’s schools, we are able to have a tremendous effect on more than 7,000 students, educators and employees each year.
