About My Business:

 

Taking over as an external Consultant, Trainer, Coach, Facilitator or Interim Project Manager to me means that the quick finding of facts and analysis of the current situation are essential. Priority is given to the (re)activation and strengthening of those potentials already embedded in the People and Organisations I work with. For me working in projects is a general credo, as Project Management is the Model that has the highest potential to bring things forward that have never been done before. This means: Thinking in Milestones, Goals, Targets and Deliverables, Description of Structures and Work packages, assignment to responsible and -as possible, best capable – resources. My prime job is to work with Humans for and on the definition of a common base (Configuration), lay out and evaluate the requirements of all stakeholders involved, from there describe the a common goals as well as the specific targets, and then specify a logically correct plan if possible. There may be situations where classic sequencing - if required and applicable - can be replaced by planning over urgency, importance, capability and availability according to agile principles. Continuous monitoring as well as controlling all critical Elements (Time Cost Effort Social etc.) are things that require personal contact and simple tools. They need to be understood by all as a helping and guiding element but not as an obstacle in the way. My second Credo is to systematically give aid for being capable for self-help As a Consultant and Coach I use all my Knowledge, Social and Methodological Skills to move those People that have to move things forward. As a Trainer I deliver all sorts of Trainings mainly around all competence Aereas gathered under the IPMA ICB. To be able to do so regularly re qualify and re certify as a IPMA 4-Level Trainer. As a PM as use proof, evaluate, reinforce my Knowledge against Practice. This makes sure that what I say, works and what I do is professional. Especially when working with people applying as senior Project Manager or Program Management Director (IPMA Level B and A). Over the last 8 years the percentage rate of Training against Project Work was 40% against 60%. Over the years I’ve continuously enlarged my personal competence concerning the use and the development of skills for the preparation of, as well as the conduction of sensitive/crucial conversations. Especially in situations which do not allow a top-down directive or where mayor key players need be initiated for making fundamental decision or whilst an unpleasant truth needs to be brought to the point. I quite frequently meet Situations in which people need to go forward without having the position of power to do so, but are fully responsibility for the outcome. This requires a certain capability as well as maturity to get things done. Having to manage projects with a lack of granted disciplinary authority is a quite common obstacle. This is where Influencing and Change Management Skills are required and available in my person. These and more skills in the area of "soft success-supporting factors" are other essential components for a successful informal leadership in most projects I’ve had I take over in the last years.
