About My Business:

Filmmaker, photographer and writer mostly interested in the way we relate to the world. After studying communications and cinema at the Université du Québec in Montreal I worked for many years as a producer, writer, translator, director and editor on more than twenty film productions. As an independent filmmaker, I was the producer and director of the film Sadhana - Back to the Source, which recounts the Odyssey of a young Westerner who follows the call of his soul to India - the land of ancient and spiritual Wisdom of the East. During the next months he travels from the hotlands of Southern India (Mount Arunachala) to the source of the Ganges River in the Himalayas. Along the way, he meets holy men and spiritual teachers (among them, Swami Premananda, Swami Durgananda, and Father Bede Griffiths, a Benedictine monk who runs the Shantivanam Ashram, a bridge between East and West Cultures and Religions), travels and learns the discipline of detachment with a sadhu and attends India's most sacred religious festival, the Kumbha Mela. According to reviewers, Sadhana is a "must-see for all spiritual seekers and anyone interested in India's spiritual legacy". Critics compared it in scope and impact to such films as Siddhartha and Meetings with Remarkable Men. They pointed out its "stunning visuals and unforgettable music". (See excerpts of film reviews at http://www.sadhanafilm.com/home.htm and trailer of the film at http://www.sadhanafilm.com/filmclip.htm). After many travels in other countries for film making, I recently decided to settle down in my hometown, stay with my family, and focus more on my writing works (screenplays, novels). Presently, I’m working on my first novel Blood for Freedom, which is the story of a man who, in his desire to free himself from suffering and mental anguish he felt after his brother had committed suicide, get inspired by the philosophy of the Theology of Liberation and engaged in catholic mission activity as a lay missionary among authentic Maya Indians of Guatemala in Central America. He will strongly connect with the way the Mayas relate to the natural world, but his search will lead him to put his life at risk for the love of a people caught in the claws of a savage repression into the very heart of the “New World”. The novel is scheduled for release at the end of 2011.
