About My Business:


The Sun Runner Magazine began publishing in Twentynine Palms, California, in January, 1995. I (Steve Brown) purchased the magazine in 2004. The magazine is now in its 19th year and reaches across the California deserts and to a growing number of select locations across Southern California, and beyond, into the Southwest. The Sun Runner has been called "a cultural icon" by the Twentynine Palms City Council, and is active in covering desert issues, as well as desert culture and history. Our audience trends toward more literate, better educated, more adventurous, and interesting in new places and things to explore and experience. We also work with local governments and organizations to produce specialty publications, and can produce maps, visitor guides, programs, rack cards, and more, as well as handle regional distribution needs for all of the above. The Sun Runner actively promotes the Southwestern desert region. Current advertisers include the City of Twentynine Palms, the Innkeepers Association of Twentynine Palms, the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, Tortoise Rock Casino, Old Town Yucca Valley, and hotels, retail operations, restaurants, art galleries, real estate agencies, museums, colleges, and more, from across the desert region and neighboring locales. The Sun Runner is perfectly situated for advertisers throughout California, the West Coast, the Southwest, and nationwide, seeking to reach the California desert audience through a reputable, established, and economical publication. As of September, 2013, The Real Desert, with Steve Brown, has begun airing on KVCR PBS TV across southern California to 5.7 million households.
